USER MANUALS for JUNIPER NETWORKS routers
About JUNIPER NETWORKS
Juniper Networks, Inc. was an American multinational corporation that developed and marketed networking products, including routers, switches, network management software, network security solutions, and software-defined networking technologies.
Founded in 1996, the company experienced rapid growth, and by 2001 had captured approximately 37% of the core router market, challenging Cisco’s previously dominant position.
Juniper initially specialized in core routers used by internet service providers (ISPs) to perform IP address lookups and direct internet traffic. In 2002, the acquisition of Unisphere enabled the company to expand into the edge router market, supplying ISPs with technology for routing traffic to individual consumers. The following year, Juniper entered the IT security sector with its JProtect security toolkit, and in 2004 it strengthened this presence by acquiring NetScreen Technologies. During the early 2000s, Juniper also expanded into the enterprise market, which accounted for roughly one-third of its revenue by 2005. From 2014 through 2025, the company focused heavily on the development of software-defined networking products.
In January 2024, Juniper Networks agreed to be acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), with the acquisition completed on July 2, 2025.
